Armco Barrier Installed In Loading Bay

Which fixings do I need?

The type of fixing you need depends on the rest of the barrier and the equipment you have used. At Armco Direct, we have a few options that can do wonders to make sure your overall structure remains intact for as long as you need it to be.

Lap bolts

A lap bolt is the bolt you need to attach galvanised steel beams and ends together. The number you need will depend on how many joints and ends you require for your structure. A lap bolt such as our M16 x 35 Galvanised Lap Bolt and 2 Washers is there to make sure the structure of the Armco barrier system remains intact in the face of a collision. This is something our experts can advise you on. Email them at sales@armcodirect.co.uk and they will answer any questions you may have.

Post bolt

Similar to a lap bolt, post bolts are used to connect your crash barrier beams to a bolt-down or dig-in post securely. Every barrier system needs a bolt to keep it intact and prevent it from breaking into pieces. You will find our  M16 x 50 Galvanised Post Bolt to be a great option as a replacement for an existing bolt or as part of a new barrier system. To discuss how many you may need, please call our expert team on 01530 839 955.

Connectors

Connectors are another vital cog in the barrier system machine. A connector does pretty much what it says on the tin: it connects two pieces of steel together. In the instance of our Galvanised Internal Handrail Connector, a connector is used to make sure the pedestrian handrails are secured and safe for people to use. This is specifically for handrails. We also provide other connectors, such as the OBB Connector Plate. This is the connector used to hold two Open box beams in place and increase the length of the barrier if needed.

If you don’t know how many bolts and connectors you require, simply complete our online calculator and you will receive a quote within two hours which will automatically work out how many bolts you need. Each of our bolts and connectors are made using our 100% recyclable steel and comes with an 85-year life guarantee – so you know it will last.
